  IRIS showcasing event was organized on 27th July '07 at Dewan public school in Meerut.
   
 
Intel Initiative for Research and innovation in Science (IRIS) is a National Science Fair aimed at infusing the spirit of discovery in school children and increasing their interest in Science & Technology. It provides students a platform to exhibit their scientific aptitude, seeking scientific solutions to everyday problems and win public recognition and awards at a National & International level.

Intel has joined hands with the Department of Science and Technology (DST, GOI) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to jointly promote inventions and innovations among students and youth in India. This is aimed at accelerating Intel India's ongoing effort towards encouraging young inventors in India.
The objective of the event is to motivate the teachers and students towards project based learning, to enable the students of
9th – 12th class aware of the contest and inspire them to participate in the same. It also serves the purpose of getting first hand information on IRIS 2007.

The event commenced with the welcome note of Mr.Rout .He encouraged the students to create an award winning projects to participate in IRIS.

Mr. Piyush highlighted the importance of Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). He explained the entire process of the selection of projects and gave them all the minute details about the student’s participation in this regard.




Dr. B.K. Tripathi emphasized the importance of PBL in the classroom. He quoted that the teachers need to change the method of teaching which in terms will change the students’ way of learning. They will certainly switch over from rote learning to self – paced learning.All the students were delighted to talk about their projects and clarified their queries with Dr. Tripa.

Mr. Piyush appreciated Mr. Amandeep ,Intel award winner for showcasing his project and motivated the students to do more projects.

Mr. Piyush thanked all the students and teachers for their support and co operation in making the event a grand success.
