The Intel® Teach Program has been launched to train school teachers belonging to
Government funded schools. The training focuses on teacher development. Teachers
are equipped with the knowledge and use of technology in teaching and learning. The
three government funded school teacher training programs at present are

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS)

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is a vast network of more than 900 Central
Government Schools. Intel got associated with KVS in 1999 and around 20000
teachers have been trained under Intel® Teach Program. 15 KVS schools, where
teachers have undergone the Intel Teach Program training have been identified
as model schools for ICT implementation and showcasing

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS)

In 1999, NVS and Intel® joined hands to conduct a pilot program for few selected
schools .After the success of pilot project, around 3486 teachers across all the
schools of NVS were trained during their summer and autumn vacations during the
period 2001-2002. The various initiatives taken jointly undertaken jointly by Intel
and NVS are Smart School Project, Joint Contest, Technology Plan Workshops,
Workshops for NVS officials, IT Curriculum Review Committee.

Vidya Vahini Project - Ministry of Information Technology (MOIT)

Vidya Vahini’ pilot project was launched by the Department of Information Technology
and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; Government of India.
Teach Program from rural parts
of the country.
The pilot project aims to connect140 Government/Government-aided Senior Secondary Schools in seven districts across the country.It would enable these
schools to form their own Intranet and Internet and facilitate in information exchange.
The likely benefits to be accrued from the project are better coordination among schools and promotion and implementation of e-governance amongst them. A total of 1344 teachers have been trained under the program, so far.
