Intel Awarded the ‘Manibhai Desai Pratishthan Award’

27th April’2007, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Sabhagruh, Mangalwar Peth, Pune – Intel received the ‘Manibhai Desai Pratishthan Award’ from Shri Ajit Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party Chief. This award is distributed to organizations and individuals who have displayed
immense social responsibility in their thought, leadership and activities.

Intel received this award for the Intel Teach Program.
The Intel Teach program was launched in India in the year 2000. Till date, the program has trained
over 7 lakh teachers in India. It has touched over 3500 schools in the state by training 40000
secondary school teachers from 18 districts of Maharashtra.
The award was a salute to the program’s immense contribution towards enabling the teachers and students of
Maharashtra- on ICT (Information Communication Technology) in Education. Mr. Rahul Bedi, Director, Corporate affairs for
Asia Pacific and Business Operations Manager India and Mr. Anshul Sonak, K-12 Program Manager, India received the award.
Since 2004 Intel has been collaborating with the Principals Association, Pune district in the execution of Mahatma Phule Abhiyan - a joint
initiative of Pune Education Department and Pune District Principals Association for bringing in qualitative improvement in the school education system |
