Buying computers made easy - (Look for these when buying a computer)
Microprocessor
It is always best to buy the fastest computer you can afford to protect your investment. The
Intel® Pentium® 4 processor running at 2GHz is the fastest processor available today for personal computers.
RAM
Random Access Memory is the short-term memory where your computer stores information you are using.
Hard Drive
Like a filing cabinet, the bigger the hard drive is the more information it can store. Look for a minimum of 20 GB.
CD ROM
A standard on most computers and a must for multimedia software, playing music and watching videos. Look for CD ROM drives with speeds ranging from 24X to 52X.
Monitor
The monitor is the screen on which all the multimedia action appears. Look for a minimum of a 15" (SVGA) colour monitor.
Modem
A modem uses your phone line to connect you to the Internet. A 56 kb/sec or higher modem speeds would be ideal.
