Creating Website using Publisher

Click on the Start button, scroll to programs and click on Publisher Icon.

Select the website option from the left hand panel of the publisher window that will open. You will be given
a lot of options for your web page design and background style. Select by clicking on the website design
that you like from the given templates

Fill up the personal Information form that opens, and click on update.

You will now be able to see the website template that you have selected with the personal information updated at
appropriate places. Select the Colour scheme that you like from the given list, by clicking on the desired colour scheme

Increase the size of the webpage by selecting from the percentage size button. Add more pages as required
by clicking on Insert button, selecting page and then the type of page Ex. Story, event etc that are listed in
the drop down box.

Write an appropriate Title for your website. Fill in the Content in appropriate boxes Paste Pictures and
save the website.

Uploading Website on Geocities Open Internet explorer and type www.geocities.com in the address bar.

The geocities home page will open. Click on Signup Now

You will be asked to login with your yahoo id and password

The following window will open once you have logged in. Fill up the questionnaire. Select education from the
options. This will place your site in educational section.

Write the verification code in the box provided and click on Submit

You will see a welcome address and the URL for the site that you will be uploading. Take careful note of the URL.
You will use this URL to open your site.

Click on build your website now Click on the Manage option to start uploading a free website on geocities

Click on the Easy Upload option

You can add more file browse buttons by clicking on add more files. Count the no. of files created in the
folder (created when the publisher was saved as webpage,) and add buttons accordingly.

Once you have the required no. of browse options. Click on the first browse button and select the folder created
when publisher was saved as web page. First file from the list of files in the Folder

Select each and every file one by one then click on uploads Files.

You will get a message uploaded successfully. Make note of the URL created, and sign out from Geocities.
You can now view your website content by typing the URL in the address box.
